God of Glory and of Grace,
as Jesus turned his path toward the Cross,
he went up to the mountain top,
where you revealed his divine light.
As we reflect on the meaning
of his transfiguration,
help us to see the depth of his faithfulness,
for he did not remain on the mountain,
but returned to the earth,
where his greater divine light
was the radiance of his unconditional love
given for all people.
May the same self-giving love
shine through our lives,
lived on ground level
where the glory of your grace
might transform us
to bring your goodness
to all the world.
