St. Marks, New Orleans

Serving the Hungry

Located in the French Quarter of New Orleans, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church is a faith community that recognizes all people as children of God regardless of race, sexual orientation, life history, education, place of birth, age… or anything the world uses to divide us. God’s love is not only for all, but God’s Spirit seeks to create us into a community filled with genuine care and love for one another. St. Mark’s partners with congregations all over Louisiana to provide a hot meal every Sunday after church. The majority of the attendees are homeless. Each team goes in with a prepared meal for 200-250 and dishes it up to serve after worship. Asbury UMC has been sending teams 2-3 times a year since 2013.
