LifeWords: shared words to enrich and enhance your life.

by Jan Cooke on August 04, 2020

Each of us hopes that our lives make a positive contribution and we sometimes find ourselves wondering if we are on the right path. It can seem that we are walking the road of life with few, if any, clues about which path is the right one. One of the most life-changing discoveries I’ve ever made was to find, both in Scripture and in my own experience, that God’s wondrous creativity is not confined to the first two chapters of Genesis but is ongoing to this very moment. His loving nature is to create, restore, and make all things new. Rest assured that in every decision and action you take, God is ever-present within the details of your life, continuously working for your good.

If you don’t have a dream,
how can you have a dream come true?
(Dan Zadra)

You have brains in your head and feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own and you know what you know
And you are the one who’ll decide where to go.
(Dr. Seuss)

Listen to the mustn’ts, child, listen to the don’ts.
Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the wont’s.
Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me:
Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.
(Shel Silverstein)

The future is sending back good wishes
and waiting with open arms.
(Kobi Yamada)

No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no human mind has imagined
the things God has prepared
for those who love him.
I Corinthians 2:9

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
