Children's Ministries

We offer a variety of programs so families may know the stories of faith, grow in their relationship with God, and have a fun and safe experience with a loving church family.

Regular Programming

Nursery Care During Worship

The nursery will be available for infants - 5 year-olds during the 9:45 and 11:00 worship services. Registration is not required. All nursery staff will be using the same cleaning and care procedures that are being used during Asbury's Day School.

Please contact Sarah Deroche if you have any questions at   .

Sunday School

Children's Sunday school has gone virtual! We are now hosting Sunday morning Zoom classes for Sunday school. We will continue these online classes until we resume on-campus Sunday school.

Join us from 9:45-10:15 each Sunday. Parents, you are welcome to join the classes, but it's not a requirement. We have a pre-K - 1st grade class, a 2nd & 3rd grade class, a 4th & 5th grade class, and our 6th grade confirmation class. (You don't have to participate in confirmation to attend the 6th grade class.) If you have multiple pre-k - 3rd grade children at home, they are welcome to join the same Zoom class. Our curriculum is very similar for both groups, so either class will be familiar for them. 4th - 6th grade classes use different curriculums, so we ask that only students in these grade levels attend these two classes.

Zoom Links will be sent weekly through the children's Sunday school email. If you would like us to add you to the email list, please contact Sarah Deroche at  .

The Children’s Ministry needs Sunday School volunteers, and we would love to have your help!  You can pick the Sundays that work with your schedule, and we have several different roles that you can choose.

Our greeters check students in and help them find their class upstairs if needed.  Shepherds provide a second adult in each class, help with materials and activities, and offer encouragement and support to the children. The auxiliary crew fills in wherever we are short on Sundays.  Working with the kids at Asbury is so rewarding because you are helping our children build their relationship with God.  In return, you get to see God from their perspective which can renew your spirit in surprising ways.

Please consider being a part of this amazing program.

Students with amazing grace

We are very excited to announce the return of SWAG! If you have a 4th - 6th grader, they won't want to miss this program. We will meet on the second floor of the Children's Building. Drop off starts at 5:45. Pick up time will be 6:45. No registration for this event.

We will not be serving food at this time, but we do have some fun, socially distant games and activities for you!

Masks will be required.

well-versed kids

Well-Versed Kids is a Bible verse memory program for children ages 1st-5th grade. The memory verse of the month is available in our weekly Sunday school emails. Children can practice the verse at home and email Mrs. Sarah a video of themselves saying the verse. Kids can earn prizes for every verse they memorize. Your child won’t always have a Bible wherever they go, but with the verses learned in Well-Versed Kids, they will always have the important truths necessary for facing real-life trials and challenges.

If your 3rd - 6th grader would like to be an acolyte in 2021, we are scheduling an acolyte training for January. More details coming soon.

Children in 3rd– 6th grade are invited to serve their church and God by joining the Auld Acolyte Guild and becoming an acolyte for the 11:00 a.m. worship services.

The purpose of worship is to provide an atmosphere in which people can meet God. As an acolyte, you are part of the worship service. You bring the Light of Christ into worship and take the Light of Christ before the people into the world. Several times throughout the year we will have parties and outreach projects.  We will serve together and also play together.  If you interested in becoming an acolyte and need more information, please contact  Sarah Deroche at

Kids' choir

Our Kids's Choir is not currently meeting due to COVID-19. Kids' Choir is a program that focuses on the development of children's voices while inspiring a life-long love of music and worship. Kids' Choir takes place every Sunday during the school year at 3:00 p.m. in the Children's Building.
