Through July, we are assessing when and how to return Sunday School, Nursery Care, and other children's activities on the campus. Please see our Sunday Worship Page for both Online Worship and in-person Sunday worship options.
Please see our Online resources page below for activities to do with your kids during this time.
We offer a variety of programs so families may know the stories of faith, grow in their relationship with God, and have a fun and safe experience with a loving church family.
Nursery Care During Worship
During the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services, Asbury offers loving nursery care with trained staff for infants 6-weeks old through Kindergarten. During the 9:45 a.m. worship service, all children are included in Pre-School Sunday School.
For all children, aged 0 - 6th grade, we offer Sunday School classes during the 9:45 a.m. worship service. For detailed information about our curriculum and age-specific information, go to our Sunday School page.
Kids' Choir is a program that focuses on the development of children's voices while inspiring a life-long love of music and worship. Kids' Choir takes place every Sunday during the school year at 3:00 p.m. in the Children's Building. See our Kids' Choir page for more information.
Students with amazing grace
On Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. during the school year, we offer a fellowship night called SWAG with food, games, and a short lesson for 5th & 6th graders. For more information, see our events. To sign up to volunteer or provide a meal, click or tap here.
Well-Versed Kids is a Bible verse memory program for children ages 1st-5th grade. Each week, we review the month's verse and kids have the opportunity to recite their verse during small groups at Sunday School. Kids can earn prizes for every verse they memorize. Your child won’t always have a Bible wherever they go, but with the verses learned in Well-Versed Kids, they will always have the important truths necessary for facing real-life trials and challenges.
Children in 3rd– 6thgrade are invited to serve their church and God by joining the Auld Acolyte Guild and becoming an acolyte for the 11:00 a.m. worship services.
We have training twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. Acolytes begin serving in worship on September 22, 2019. Online worship signup for current, trained acolytes can be found by clicking here.
The purpose of worship is to provide an atmosphere in which people can meet God. As an acolyte, you are part of the worship service. You bring the Light of Christ into worship and take the Light of Christ before the people into the world. Several times throughout the year we will have parties and outreach projects. We will serve together and also play together. If you interested in becoming an acolyte and need more information, please contact Leah Gaughan at .
At Asbury, we strive to create an environment where children are always welcome. We have special events for Children's Ministry that are "just for kids" and we also have events that are for our entire church family. We encourage multigenerational relationships and connections with our events.
trunk or treat
Every year, we open our campus and have a fun event for the whole family! Members of the Asbury community decorate their car trunks, have games, candy, and fun for your little costumed goblins to participate in a safe, enjoyable trick or treat experience.
Asbury Game Night
A few times a year, we have a church-wide game night in Spiritwind Worship Center. You can bring a favorite board game, or just show up and join in the fun! Check our events listing so see if we have one coming up soon.
Family Flick Night
A few times a year, Children's Ministries hosts a family-friendly movie with popcorn for the entire family!
Pancakes & Pajamas
During the Advent season in Spiritwind Worship Center, we host a special worship service entitled "Pancakes & Pajamas" that recounts the birth of Jesus while we enjoy a pancake breakfast in our pajamas. This is a worship experience for all ages to enjoy together.
